Green Robot AI is a power-optimized AI service that automatically chooses the best AI for every question. This slashes energy consumption compared to mainstream AI sites, while still using the most advanced models when needed.

How it Works

Think of it like lighting your home. You wouldn't fire up a stadium floodlight to read a book in bed — a bedside lamp does the job perfectly and uses a tiny fraction of the electricity. Most AI services give you the floodlight every time, whether you need it or not. Green Robot AI gives you the right light for the moment.

Intelligent query routing

When you send a message, Green Robot AI analyses your request before it reaches any model. Simple, everyday questions — defining a word, drafting a quick email, converting units, brainstorming names for your cat — are routed to a lightweight, high-efficiency model that can handle them with ease. These models respond quickly and use dramatically less energy per request.
More demanding tasks — deep research, nuanced analysis, complex code, or multi-step reasoning — are automatically handed off to a top-tier frontier model with the horsepower to do them justice. You get the best available intelligence exactly when it matters, and only when it matters.

Why the difference is so big

The energy savings aren't just about using a smaller model. Today's most powerful models often perform extensive internal reasoning before they even begin writing a visible response — thinking through possibilities, evaluating options, and refining their answer behind the scenes. That hidden work can consume many times the resources of the final reply itself, and it often adds noticeable delay. For a straightforward question, all of that extra computation is wasted. By routing simple requests to an efficient model that answers directly, Green Robot skips the unnecessary overhead entirely — saving both energy and your time.

The Boost button

Intelligent routing gets it right the vast majority of the time, but sometimes you'll want more depth than the lightweight model provides. When a conversation is being handled by the efficient model, you'll see a Boost button at the bottom of the chat. Clicking it upgrades the conversation to the most capable model for the remainder of that chat and automatically regenerates the previous response so you get a richer answer straight away — no need to retype anything.
Think of Boost as a one-click upgrade: the conversation continues seamlessly, just with more firepower behind it. You stay in control of when the extra horsepower is worth the trade-off.

Manual overrides

If you'd rather not leave the decision to the router, the Quality slider in the AI Settings panel lets you lock in your preference. Set it to Faster to always use the efficient model, Smarter to always use the frontier model, or leave it on Auto to let Green Robot choose for you on a message-by-message basis.


Understanding the Sidebar

The sidebar is your control center for Green Robot AI. It gives you quick access to your chat history, AI behavior settings, account and billing info, and more. Below is a walkthrough of each section from top to bottom.

New Chat

At the very top you'll see the ✨ New chat button — click it to start a fresh conversation at any time.

History

The History panel lists your recent conversations, each with a short auto-generated title and an emoji icon. The list shows 20 items at a time (out of however many you have on file). Two buttons sit at the bottom:

  • More… — loads the next batch of older conversations.
  • Clear all — permanently deletes your entire chat history.

Click any title to reopen that conversation and pick up where you left off.

AI Settings

This panel lets you tune how the AI behaves across two axes.

Quality controls the trade-off between speed and intelligence:

  • Faster — uses a lighter model for snappy replies.
  • Auto (default) — lets the app decide the best model for each message.
  • Smarter — always uses the most capable model, which may take a little longer.

Variety controls how predictable or surprising the responses are:

  • Reliable — more deterministic, sticks closely to the most likely answer.
  • Auto (default) — balanced mix.
  • Creative — more varied and imaginative output.

Advanced

Instructions for AI — This text box lets you give the AI a persistent system-level instruction that applies to every conversation. For example, you might write "Always reply in British English" or "You are a helpful coding tutor." Whatever you type here is sent alongside every message you send.

Save chat to PDF… — Exports the current conversation as a PDF file for sharing or archiving.

Account

Credit balances shows how many credits you have remaining, split into two pools:

  • Subscription — credits included with your current plan (replenished each billing cycle).
  • Purchased — one-time credit top-ups that don't expire.

Buy more credits lets you purchase additional credits in bundles of 10, 20, or 50 (priced at $10, $20, and $50 respectively).

Billing portal opens the external billing dashboard where you can manage your subscription plan, update payment methods, and view invoices.

Help center — opens the documentation and support portal with FAQs, guides, and a way to contact the team.

Log out — signs you out of your current session.

At the very bottom you'll see a short session ID (e.g. 5Azhiu-6YjpYS-Bu67QG). If you ever need to report a bug or reach out to support, include this ID so the team can look up your session.

Billing and Payments

You can manage your subscription and payment methods at our billing portal, available in the Account section of the sidebar.


Credits

Every message you send to Green Robot AI costs a small number of credits. The exact cost depends on the length and complexity of the conversation — longer messages and smarter model settings use more credits, while shorter exchanges on the Faster setting use fewer.

Subscription credits

If you're on a paid plan, you receive a fresh batch of credits at the start of each billing cycle. These subscription credits are your primary balance and are always consumed first. Any unused subscription credits do not roll over — they reset when your next cycle begins.

Purchased credits

Need more than your plan includes? You can buy additional credits at any time in bundles of 10, 20, or 50 from the Buy more credits button in the Account section of the sidebar. Purchased credits never expire and sit in a separate balance that is only drawn from once your subscription credits have been fully used up for the current cycle.

Green Robot AI always uses your subscription credits before touching any purchased credits. They won't be spent as long as you still have subscription credits remaining.

Keeping track

You can check your remaining balance at any time in the Account section of the sidebar, where your subscription and purchased credits are displayed separately. If you'd like a more detailed breakdown of your usage history, head to the Billing portal to view invoices and transaction records.
